The Earth's Silhouettes

The Earth's Silhouettes

What plant can grow if
you keep lifting it from the soil?

Let your roots expand unchecked
into a forest, a river, a song,
or some verse you hold tenderly.

You need to become quiet for this,
as roots work in silence
beneath the earth's silhouettes.

Draw from souls all you ever could
want above, below, and to the side,
and within us, within us just love.

I love romantic poetry, it is my absolute favorite! Just to include another poem, in the poem “I Remember You As You Were” Neruda pens:
“I remember you as you were last autumn
in your eyes the flames of twilight fought on
and the leaves fell in the water of your soul.
...
Sky from a ship. Field from the hills.
Your memory is made of light, of smoke, of a still pond
Beyond your eyes, farther on, the evenings were blazing.”
Imagine penning these words, what mighty power!
